TECHNOSAURS, BOOK 2: ADAPTATIONS

As a kid, I was somewhat of a cartoon junky.  My parents thought I was rotting my brain, but now, with the publication of TECHNOSAURS, I might argue that all those years of sitting in front of the TV should count as "training."  In essence, TECHNOSAURS is little more than an old school Saturday morning cartoon in printed form.  And, so I am pleased to announce the continuation of that cartoon-in-my-head with TECHNOSAURS, book 2: ADAPTATIONS. I hope you'll check it out.

TECHNOSAURS: ADAPTATIONS is available online through DRIVETHRU COMICS for $1.

Interviewed by Alethea Kontis

In November 2011, I had the opportunity to create an illustration for New York Times Bestselling Author Alethea Kontis's short story, "Counterclockwise", which was published in Orson Scott Card's Intergalactic Medicine Show.  It was a great story to illustrate, and what made the experience even better was learning that Alethea herself was pleased with the artwork.

Recently, Alethea interviewed me for her blog.  It was a fun little interview in which we discussed spaceships, fairy tales, and bucket lists.  You can check it out here.

Top Ten Animated Music Videos

I grew up with MTV (way back when the "M" actually stood for Music), and, to this day, I'm still a big fan of music videos. Being an artist, I'm especially fond of animated music videos, so I decided to compile a list of my favorites.  Here are my Top Ten.  They run the gambit of animation types including traditional, digital, and stop-motion.  Hope you enjoy.

10.  Dire Straits - "Money for Nothing".  Today, the graphics seem a bit hokey, but when first released, the digital animation in this video was cutting edge.

9.  Starlight Mints - "Inside of Me".

8.  Ingrid Michaelson - "Maybe".  I love the way this video combines film and animated shadow puppetry.

7.  Land of Talk - "It's Okay".

6.  White Stripes - "Fell In Love With a Girl".  Legos are awesome. Period.

5.  Fleet Foxes - "White Winter Hymnal".

4.  Ra Ra Riot - "Dying is Fine".

3.  Of Monsters and Men - "Little Talks".

2.  A-ha - "Take on Me".  This has been one of my all-time favorites for the past 20 years.

1.  Ramona Falls - "I Say Fever".  An absolutely amazing animation made with Adobe Premier.
